I am searching for an Onan MDKD 6.5 generator service manual. I am not satisfied by the local dealer's level of service, so i am considering doing some routine maintenance work myself.

If anyone has a copy let me know on how i could get a copy.

We have an Onan 10kW generator but I would think that the service manual would be very similar regarding service intervals etc.

Things that may be forgotten about is the zinc pencil anode in the raw water cooler, this needs checked every few months.

Our geny takes SAE30 oil, multigrade is not recommended. SAE30 is for use from 0-50degrees centigrade ambient.

Fuel filters changed every 600hours or every year, which ever is sooner. Oil filter every 100 hours I think.

Check for leaks round hoses, raw water pump. Be sure fresh water cover is screwed on tightly as it will leak water when engine comes up to temperature and water is pressurized.

I'll try to get a manual scanned in the next week or so.
