Have any owners of late models - year 2000 onwards, suffered with osmosis? If so would like to hear from you.

Only osmosis I've seen is on early 80s/ late 70s model. I think ice blasting is the best way for treatment - freezes the water and pops the bubbles. Requires major work to repair of course but i think this is the best way.

That's unfortunate. I would be interested to know how you are going about repairing the osmosis, cleaning the grp, drying out time, treatment.

Here are a few links for reference.

This link below contains an invaluable resource of cases of blistering, boat drying etc.
Be sure and check out "My wet boat won't dry" as well.

These guys do repairs but I have no reports on quality, pervious repairs etc. so tread with caution as can be seen from the articles at David Pascoe's website.

Thanks for the info - currently waiting to see if Princess will do anything as it's their reputation at stake.
I live in the North of England and my local boatyard has an excellent reputation for curing osmosis - but thank for the links.
Currently there is a 2m x 1m section of the hul with 30 plus blisters.
Not a good advert for Princess. It has now been scraped away down to the mating - hoping it will take 4 weeks approx to dry out.

As I'm sure you've read on the yacht survey website, scraping alone is not enough - multiple steam cleaning with time to dry out and moisture readings are what is required.

In area affected readings have come down from 20 plus to an average of 9.
They reckon in about 2/3 weeks th readings should be sub 5 and ready to epoxy.

Well that good. David Pascoe reckons 2% so aim for that. We have a 1989 P55 and our surveyor measued the reeadings as remarkable for the age, I'll get readings off survey when I find it !
