which is just the best.
There are 2 main ways to work and it's best to get them both going before leaving the UK.
Get your PC bluetooth enabled and turn on discovery for your bluetooth mobile.
Find new device and pair PC and phone
Create a dial-up connection but use *99# as the phone number and leave username and password blank
This will create a data connection that is pay per megabyte using your 2.5 or 3G connection. Do not install any custom software for your phone if this works as generally phone softwrae is more trouble than it's worth.

So when you arrive in your foreign country, try using the 2.5 / 3G connection first as this is the cheapest and you are not charged per minute, but per megabyte. If that doesn't work then use Iberpass dial-up. If you still cannot connect (like what happened to me on the Isle of Man) then your mobile service provider (Orange, Three, O2 etc.) has been restricted in voice calls only and you should think about a satellite based connection or using a SSB radio with Only registered users can see links on this forum!
