Hi.
I own a 435 with a lowering radar arch. I plan to travel through the French canals to the Med in the Autumn. I have done a lot of research but keep having the worry of the height of bridges. Has anyone done this trip themselves? I have got various maps etc, but I would appreciate any first hand advice.
Thanks.

We did it about 20 years ago in an Ocean (Broom) 37. I would be very hesitant to go through the canals in a planing hull boat with exposed props as I hear that the canals are silting up due to the lack of commercial traffic.

I believe there was an article in Motor Boats Monthly a while back on the french canals so would be good to check that out.
