Got this via email...

hello

my wife and i are thinking of buying a princess 32. we have a 1964 freeman 22 at the moment, but need a bigger boat as we are having our
first child soon. the 32 in question has aqd32a engines on 280d sterndrives, it was produced in 1976. is there anything i should look out for.

i am told by the vendoor that he has re,epoxyed the hull, also given the engines a service along with the legs. i am told that the engines are 106 hp, how fast will the boat go and what kind of g.p.h. would we get. thanks . andy.peace

This may be a bit late but here goes...

We have a Princess 32 with twin AQD32A engines. Our are on 270D legs as it is slightly earlier than the one you are considering.

We can manage 16 knots in ideal conditions - flat calm and lightly loaded. We managed this on a pre-sales sea trial with an empty boat and tanks. In normal cruising trim we can get about 12-14 knots.

I like these engines. The run very smoothly, having six cylinders. Ours has extra sound-proffing on the engine hatch so she is comparatively quiet too.

Hope this helps,
Dave.
