I have a Princess 40 year model 1999.

Anyone who can give information how the vinyl covered panels in the saloon ceiling are fitted. I want to take them down for inspection without destroing them....

As far as I know it is fixed in the same way an interior car panel is fixed, with plastic fixings that have a barbed end which just push into place.

Dear Mark,

Thank you for your reply.

You are probably right, with some violence I can partly pull down some of the panels at some points. But the majority of the panels are so hard to pull down so I do not dare to use the required force. Do you know of any trick to use?

And an additional question: If I succeed to dismount the panels, how big is the risk that the panels will tend to fall down unwanted afterwards?

The only thing would be when putting back in place that the fixing is not forced back through the front of the panel when pushing up into place again. You can be sure this doesn't happen by using something large, blunt and clean on the outside.

If you can see that the only way to pull down is by force they try using leverage close to the fixing itself rather then pulling the whole panel, this should help.
