The recent survey on my '76 Princess 32 suggested that removal of the trim tabs would not be a bad thing. They are both in pretty poor condition, so they either have to be removed or replaced. There are twin Volvo 75's fitted so I assume she will never get up on the plane! What do you think? Question

Hi Paul
I glad someone is out there! Shocked
Anyway yes I know that it is very unlikely to get on to the plane, but they could help with triming the boat on to the level ( to much weight one side or the bum digging in to far)thus giving your props a better angle of attack to the water and there by getting you a slightly better fuel economny

Hope this is a little help

Hi Glen
Thanks for the reply. I have just returned to Spain from France where the boat is, currently without the trim tabs, as I have just removed them. I don't know if they were a standard fitting or an option. They are made of grp and have had the corners knocked off them - they lost some more when the boat was hauled in Spain!

I think I will repair them and re-fit, although they may not make a lot of difference in the Canal du Midi at 8kph.

Thanks again for the comments - I regularly look at the site but there does not seem to be much input at the moment.

Hi Paul
Sorry for delay
Hope the info was of a little help, so for me it's back to rebuilding my MK1 33 I Just bought.
(Must be mad!!) Shocked

I just need to find a place to put a holding tank on it, but since it is on shafts then if I can get the pipe run level right I might try to put in the aft Floor locker
(any ideas any one else)

Paul if it is any help,if you get stuck on any electrical problems, drop me a line and I will do my best to help (18 tys working in the trade and on far to many 32's to count)

Regards Glenn

Would be good to see your progress and ideas for layout etc.

I take it you are "inland boating" needing the holding tank. I would say it's bound to be a tight squeeze on a 32. Are there plenty of pump out stations about?
