Hi Folks
Does anyone know the correct prop size for a 33 MK1 on 80Hp mermaids
at present there is a pair of 17x17 on the boat, but they have been damage by the yard Evil or Very Mad . when moving the boat

The boat had a couple of old props on the stern locker which are 17x15.5 and they might just be repairable

any ideas guys
Thanks
Glenn

Best thing to do is to contact Andy at BT Marine propellors. He installed props on alot of older Princesses and he in any case he can come up with what your best prop is.

You will need:

Weight of boat
Engine horsepower
Maximum RPM
Gear box reduction ratio
Length/beam of boat

With that, he can calculate the best prop for your boat.

I am in no way related to BT Marine, just found them excellent to deal with and do a perfect job of repairing props.

Hi Mark
Sorry for delay have not got aything through on email.
have been busy trying to everything sorted out,
Problem is not sure of the weight of the boat, though I do have the registared tonnage (9.89)
Spoke to Mermaid and they guessed that due to age and slight take up of water that props of about16.5x13.5 would be right to get the full rev (2500rpm)
and said that the 17x17 are to big
Spoke to Gary Bulter at Princess and he informed me that they usd 17 dia on the Volvo but could not give and info on the smaller Mermaid

Though He did send me tha plans and wiring diagram which if any one want I will make available
